Deadwood
Deadwood is a fun town and
proved to be very popular
with the tourists and Sturgis Rally
supporters.

|

|
As parking was
impossible to find in town, we took the uptown Deadwood
Trolley |
First place of interest
just had to be a gambling
saloon! |

|

|
As usual, I only
invested in the machines and got no returns |
Dick won $75
!!! |
Once we knew that supper was
paid for!!, we started to explore the interesting town.
Here
are some pics taken inside the glamorous saloon owned by Kevin
Costner

The costumes
worn by Kevin Costner from his movies are displayed. Here are
his leathers from "Waterworld" and suedes from "Dances with
Wolves"

I promised to tell you more about the
Annual Sturgis Rally. The inaugural Rally was held in
1938 and
attended by about 200 people. With the exception of two years during
WWII, the
Rally is held every year. Over 400,000 bikers attended the
50th Anniversary in 1990 and an
estimated 275,000-plus motorcycles are at
the Rally each and every year.

Leaving Deadwood, our next destination
was Devils Tower, WY.

|

|
The tower rises 867 feet
from its base and the 1,5 acre top has a growth of sagebrush and
grass. |
A beaming Nancy as she
pretended to have walked around the base of the Tower. Only
much later would she confess that nobody had the energy to complete
the walk! |
