I
am very privileged to be the owner of a gorgeous Cream Colourpoint
Ragdoll. I read about the Ragdoll breed in an edition of the
All About Cats Annual. I was immediately enamoured by the
temperament and appearance of the Ragdoll. I was ready to make
the commitment and went onto the Raglin Ragdoll website. The
information pertaining to the cats, breeders and references
motivated me to make contact with Linn Currie.
It is an exceptional privilege to own one of these amazing cats.
Be under no illusion that being able to afford such a cat is the
main criteria. I completed a rigorous questionnaire in order for
the breeder to ascertain whether I was worthy candidate.
Linn was in contact with me frequently after it was confirmed that
my baby angel was among the litter. We live in Cape Town and
so it was delightful to receive constant updates and pictures re the
kitten’s growth and well being .
Linn’ s commitment to and love for her Ragdolls was evident since
the first time we made contact. Her description of our
Cheyenne was true and accurate in every respect and he is everything
and more than we could have hoped for ....
Thank you Linn, for our Cheyenne – a delightful, huge purring,
handsome, captivatingly blue-eyed, intuitive, incredibly intelligent
and very well loved member of our family (including a mom, dad, 5
year old little brother, rabbits Gucci and Rush, parrots Hugo and
Blue; and big tabby sister Tossie)

For at least the last 25
years we have had cats in our home and about 10 years ago we were lucky
enough to acquire a Ragdoll kitty, which brought an enormous amount of
happiness into our life. Unfortunately, we lost this precious part of
our family due to an incurable kidney problem and the thought of being
without such a magnificent creature was unbearable.
Therefore the hunt
started to try and find another Ragdoll kitty.
After visiting some of
the nice looking websites we came across the fabulous website of Linn
Currie and we immediately fell in love with the beautiful photos of her
cats and kitties. Visiting this site sealed it for us and we did not
want to look any further and contacted Linn. Because of our long
experience with kittens and cats we thought that we knew all about these
loving pets, but on talking to Linn we soon found out that this is one
lady that really knows about cats, kittens and above all how to go about
breeding them.
Obtaining approval from
Linn is not easy and it took a while as she is very specific about who
gets not only the pleasure but also the privilege of owning one of her
babies, but once you have her blessings you have Linn supporting and
advising you all the way.
She encourages future
owners to visit her regularly almost from a few days after a new litter
is born right until the lucky day when your new beautiful kitty can be
collected. If you are not able to visit her regularly, Linn keeps you
fully informed from the moment the babies are born, but that is not all
as right throughout this time she takes and sends you the most adorable
pictures of the kitties. It does not stop there, as once you have taken
your new kitty home she calls you virtually daily to enquire how your
new baby is settling in and to answer any question you may have.
When the day comes to
collect your kitty it is almost as if your new kitty is leaving her home
for a few days to go on an holiday as she packs an enormous amount of
goodies such as kitty food for at least one or more weeks, a whole box
of toys to keep your new kitty occupied with all kinds of games, a
beautifully pedigree and all the relevant documents.
To cut this short,
dealing with a professional, caring and passionate cat lover like Linn
is an experience not easily forgotten.
I am sure if you ever are
lucky enough to adopt one of her kitties you will never forget the
experience and now that our new kitty is at home with us we cannot find
the right words to thank her enough for having bred such a magnificent,
intelligent and beautiful kitty!

It was
not long ago that I lost my two cats, Jade and Simba, who were seventeen
years old when they passed away. Slowly I started looking at kittens on
the Internet, not sure if I should take on the responsibility of a
kitten again. Not too far down the line I found myself returning to the
Raglin Ragdolls site. I found the Ragdolls so intriguing that I was soon
gathering information from all sources. I then decided that I would
definitely like one of these cats and contacted Linn. Perhaps Linn could
tell how enthusiastic I was as not long after she confirmed that a male
was available for me.
Then
the fun part began. Alf (my fiancé) and I were off to Pretoria nearly
every Saturday morning to visit the little bundle of fur. Naturally I
was anxious to just collect the precious little kitten but Linn was very
strict about ensuring he was the right age and size before she would let
him go. As each week passed I found I could hardly wait to visit Linn,
Robert and the large family of Ragdolls. I was allowed to take some
photographs and these added to my interest. I must say that Linn’s
photographs of all the kittens were much better than mine and I found
myself checking the Internet continuously after each weekend to see what
new and wonderful pictures the “ shoots “ had produced. I was never
disappointed as Linn is a brilliant photographer.
The
theme for the litter was “The X Men” and it became difficult to choose a
name. After several misses my kitten was named Darwin. Linn’s name for
him is Ogies, which is very accurate however Alf likes the name of
Darwin as he thinks he sometimes acts the part. Eventually the great day
arrived (I will never forget - it was on the 17 July 2009) and I fetched
Darwin with the help of my son Peter. It was straight to my vet that
same day where the vet said she was pleased to see that he was in such
excellent health and condition and that she was impressed with the high
standards and formalities followed by Linn as a breeder.
Linn
is very observant and warned me that Darwin would be Alf’s cat. Well how
true that turned out to be as the very first night he slept next to
Alf’s pillow and now follows him everywhere. Linn sent Darwin on his way
with many toys which he plays with often when he is not sitting on Alf’s
computer keyboard or printer. He has found he has a voice and uses it
often to let his feelings and wishes known. He is now in control of the
house including the humans and the dogs. I was a little worried in the
beginning but Darwin is friendly towards the dogs and they have accepted
him as part of the family. Some how the dogs seem to have accepted that
he is “the boss”. He is a real character and has the family in fits of
laughter with his antics. He is very “sharp”, very clever, quite
inquisitive and fearless. Linn contacted me for days after his arrival
to help with suggestions and to check on his progress. This gave me
reassurance that I was on the right track. Even now I still receive
pictures of Linn’s latest litter and they are equally beautiful.
To
ensure that Darwin gets fresh air and some sun, Peter, Alf and I built a
large cat enclosure with a waterfall, plants and wooden climbers with
good protection in the form of a small house and shade. This was a new
project for us and it has turned out very well. Darwin enjoys his time
in the enclosure although this has been kept to the warmer days for the
time being and only a few hours at midday. I am rather careful and
protective over my little bundle of joy.
I am
really enjoying Darwin and must thank Linn for providing me with such a
wonderful opportunity. I really enjoyed the process, visits and the
company of Linn, Robert and friends. Thanks Linn for all your help and
advice. Keep up the good work, Grandma.
If
anyone is a cat lover, I would certainly recommend getting a Ragdoll as
they are the most lovable and affectionate breed that I have ever come
across and without hesitation would recommend Linn Currie of Raglin
Ragdolls, as the Breeder of choice

My first encounter with a Ragdoll cat was many years ago. This friendly cat that would lie on its stomach as you approached it took me aback. I asked the cat’s owner what breed it was and they confirmed it was a Ragdoll. Years later, still admiring the thought of this beautiful breed, I started browsing and discovered Linn’s website and the excitement started mounting as I wish-ed for one of my own. I browsed Linn’s website for a few years and finally emailed her. She sent me her questionnaire and then it just went spiralling from there.
Day after day I would wait for her emails and
every time she would email me a rush of excitement would flow over me. Linn had approved me as owner and the excitement grew from there. Right from the start from the kittens’ birth Linn kept me up to date with everything that was going on. Mondays were so exciting - opening up my emails and receiving the most beautiful photos of my precious kitten. Everything seemed surreal, as it was a dream coming true. Waiting for my baby seemed endless, but the results… words can’t describe a perfect little healthy bundle of love.
Finally the day arrived. We drove to the airport to fetch our baby. I only saw him on photos as I live in Port Elizabeth and when I saw him I was overcome with emotion, as he was even more beautiful than words could describe. Quite content in his carrier, we took him home. From the first time I let him out, he was quite happy, exploring every little thing and getting to know his new surroundings. He is loveable and loves playing a lot. When he decides we are to ‘boring’ for him, he simply goes and fetches one of his toys (which Linn sent with him {thank you Grandma Linn}) and plays around us. Every night as we go to bed he is there with us. Often I wake up at night to find a little paw on me.
My kitten has a VERY big purr. Even as I took him for his first vet check up the vet had a hard time listening to his heart as he would not stop purring. She also could not get over how sweet and adoring he was. Every day I find myself laughing at his cuteness and he always entertains me in a new way.
Having his presence with us is truly a blessing.
I’m sure that in due course I will get a new addition to our family because Ragdolls are truly amazing.
Thank you Linn for approving me and giving me the joy to realising my Ragdoll dream. Every day is a new adventure with Lupa.
Much love, Louise N., PE (2009)
My name is Rogue (Pepper). I was born on the 16 April 2009 and I want to thank Ouma Linn and Oupa Robert for taking such good care of me and helping me find such an awesome new home. I am very happy. When I arrived at my new home, I went to see the kitty doctor and he said that I am very healthy. He used a big word, something like that I am in immaculate condition. He said he has examined a lot of other kitties and that I am the healthiest, most well taken care of kitty he has examined in a very very very long time. He said that other kitties that come from catteries have a lot of mites in their ears and ringworm on their skin, but I don't have any of them. While I was staying with Grandma Linn, she used to take me to her studio and dress me up pretty and we used to do a lot of photo shoots with really cool stuff. Then she would send the photos to my new mommy every week so that my new mommy could see how well I am growing and how pretty I am. Love, Pepper.

When I started looking for a kitten, I did a lot of research to find the right kitten. I came across Linn's website and it just stood out to me. I contacted her and she was very helpful and
informative and she was never too busy to talk or answer any kitten related questions. She asked me what exactly I would like as qualities in my kitten. I requested a Blue Mitted female. I said she must be very playful, loving and affectionate. Linn selected a kitten for me that have exactly every quality, which I was looking for in a kitten. She also sent me complete and comprehensive information on how to care for my new kitten and how to raise her in the best way possible. I know I can phone Linn any time for any advice. Linn is always willing to give me advice and to assist me.
Linn and Robert went out of their way to prepare the travel arrangements for my kitten. She booked the flight, bought the carrier and bedding, supplied me with free kitten food and a lot of toys - everything I would need to get my kitten started in her new home. Linn contacted me with detailed flight arrangements. All I had to do was collect my baby at the airport.
The Curries made everything stress free and convenient for me.
I learned through all this how much Linn loves her cats and kittens. She really goes out of her way to take good care of them and their kittens, and makes sure they are happy. I have learned that it's not about the money to Linn. It's all about making sure that her kittens find the best possible homes where they will be well taken care of and loved, and where they will not be neglected nor abused.
I love my kitten very much and I think Linn loves all her cats and their kittens individually each one as much as I love my kitten. Linn really listened when we spoke and she sent me a kit-ten that is everything and more that I asked for. Linn is really a woman who you can talk to and she really does listen when you talk to her.
